take the lie it's so much better then the truth
the truth i have in my heart is shallow and cold
i can't stay. love isn't my thing. i want to be more,
but its not here. believe my love was true.
think that i think that about you. take the lie to get you through.
i've been doing this for a long time
i got this leaving part down
i go on and on about forever and happily ever afters
i know what to say and when to say it
it's become second nature to me to see in them
the needs i'm here to fill, but i don't stay
i can never stay; that's my one rule
take the lie to bed and dream about me
how it used to be before the tears and the lonely nights
i said goodbye. we had ugly fights.
you got paranoid. i pushed all of your insecure buttons.
you swear you could see past all my faults,
but no one ever can. you don't know how cracked i truly am.
take these lies and hang them on your walls.
those are what you need to hold on to because i'm gone.
it started long ago and far away
i was lied to and left behind too
it seemed better to leave the lie and make my own world
so i roam around where ever i go i find some comfort, but never a home
i've been call cold
i've been asked if i get lonely, no and sometimes i know it's a lie
and i'll take it over the truth every time
the truth stains, it bleeds, it kills your soul and destroys you
a lie take nothing and stays as long as you keep believing in it.
take the lie and believe it.
take the lie and keep it alive and i'll never be gone.
Hello. How are you today? Is it sunshine or rain? Is it happy or sad? Is it anger or joy? My toe nails are plum. My finger nails are golden sparkles. I am average from head to toe. Hello.

You're The Man
my heart draws closer to you.
i'm not afraid anymore!
i'm looking into your hazel eyes with those gold flecks just lost in the moment.
we lean into each other; i'm breathing your breath!
this turn of events saved me from being depressed.
i was on the verge of surrendering to the darkness within me.
your smile lit back up my world!
you're the man i want to love for the rest of my life!
i can't keep this grin off of my face.
every one wants to tear us down.
every clown wants me to wear a frown.
i take their two cents and give them three cents back.
i don't care what they think; i only care about you!
you're the man that i'll keep!
i'm mesmerized by your casual off-handed comments.
if you say you'll never leave i'll believe.
you worry about me and i'll worry about you.
i see the road ahead so clearly with you.
we're going at warp speed but it's what we need.
you're the man i would say i do to!
if you forget i love you i'll remind you.
when life gets rough i'll hold on tighter.
i want to build the future together.
we can create an inferno with our love's fire!
i'll never forget the day we met.
give me your heart and we'll never part.
i know how hard it is to keep love alive,
but you're the man worth the fight!
i'm not afraid anymore!

Migraine
i am locked into a battle with my own head.
the pain hides beneath my skull.
it pounds with no mercy.
my eyes close to shut out the light.
i pray for God to help me with this fight.
i wake up hot and sweaty.
the scent of illness lingers on my flesh.
my fever burns me from the inside out.
i worry about the day.
how am i to function this way?
i take a cold shower to lower my body heat.
i think i see steam coming off of my body.
i take the recommended medications.
i hope they are able to kill the monster inside my brain.
my skin is hot to the touch.
i curl up on my couch and cry.
i fall into a deep drug induced sleep.
my dreams are hazy, disturbed and brief.
i awake to the sound of a horn.
the dog licks the salt from the tracks of my tears.
i slept 2 hours, but the migraine still rages.
the migraine is winning this war.
it takes all the strength i have to get up.
i stumble to the kitchen sink to drink some water.
the day's are longer when the pain is stronger.
i am overwhelmed from this battle.
i manage to get up the stairs
and collapse into my bed.
i lie there staring up at the ceiling,
while the migraine strangles my thoughts.
i close my eyes and try to focus.
i utter one sentence,
God please help me!
finally, i drift off into the solace of sleep.
it's 2 am now.
i have awoken feeling better.
i take another cold shower.
the fever is gone,
but the migraine desperately hangs on.
the pain is now dull.
it is a welcomed change.
i thank God for the relief.
i can see the light at the end of this excruciating tunnel.
i smile a little bit.
my migraines and i have a long history.
it's not my friend, but a bitter enemy.
one day i had hoped they'd disappear,
but now i know the migraines will come and go as they please.
i will enjoy the peace in between these battles.

In the Moonlight
i load my gun with bullets of hope.
i shoot it at the sun to light up the shadows.
you won't find any monsters here,
just some ghosts crying over their mistakes.
i took a vow to smile everyday.
i gave up smoking so my kid could breathe better.
i quit drinking so i wouldn't be an alcoholic,
but the history of my memories will haunt me for forever.
i work hard to acquire trinkets and gadgets.
if these are the good times i fear the worst.
the rich are wasteful but demand respect.
how can you be a hero if you sold your soul?
our society thrives on giving out second chances,
but the creation of a gentle and accepting people didn't happen.
i have limited understanding
and my flexibility is growing rigid.
every one looks better in the moonlight.
it doesn't mean we should all turn out our lights.
i'm tired of fighting for more.
i'd rather spend an infinity alone.
i take solace in the fact that one day i'll be dead
and this world won't be my problem anymore
i shoot it at the sun to light up the shadows.
you won't find any monsters here,
just some ghosts crying over their mistakes.

Spoon Feed Me
hopeless romantic, i am,
but all you see is a sentimental fool.
i had thought time would change your mind,
but time is running into your defenses.
no words that i can say will ever be enough
to turn your head my way.
my only card to play would be to help you
out of financial ruin,
ironic, because i'm broke myself.
tonight i don't want to fight.
i'd love for you to hold me tight.
i know your love is an illusion
that i covet more then gold.
bring me my dreams and spoon feed them to me,
lay on a silver platter so you can serve me.
optimistic dreamer i am,
but all you hear is a nonsensical believer.
i imagined us together living happily ever after,
but you're halfway out the door.
there's no action i can take to persuade you to stay.
the only card i have left in my hand is the one i'm afraid to play.
ironic, because when i'm with you i feel fearless.
