The Way

If I find you would you let me walk beside you?
Am I responsible for my thoughts?
I’m led into dark places with confusing chases.
I keep screaming for you, but you walk the other way.
You walked the other way.

Some say I watch too much T.V.
I get a blank expression and I become it’s slave.
I say it helps me forget how bad it sucks today.
If I don’t watch the news I can keep it that way.

I’ve been searching for years for the one to ignite my inner desires.
I’ve taken detours.
I’ve crashed and burned a few times.
So many false starts and too many dead ends and then I bumped into you.

The sky opened up and the sun rained down on me.
I heard angels singing your praises.
I could hardly breathe.
